Please Donate to the Client Treats, Family
Days and Carer Koha Funds
Every one of the 14 Regional Brain Injury Associations around New Zealand has a multitude of deserving clients and hardworking carers who would benefit from the occasional treat or gift in a time of hardship, to reward effort or acknowledge contribution to their local association or the community.
For a number of years, Brain Injury New Zealand has administered a Holiday and Carer Koha Fund to offer the occasional treat to carers. While we have been lucky to have received donations from a benevolent contributor, with the expansion of this fund to include clients as well, we require further funding.

Brain Injury New Zealand (BIANZ) represents the regional Brain Injury Associations around New Zealand. These regional associations provide education, advocacy, support and information to any person with a brain injury and their families and carers.
The national office provides support for the regional associations, national level advocacy, political review, and operates the Education Advisory Service.
Telemarketing SCAM
There have been reports of unauthorised persons contacting the public purporting to be acting on behalf of Brain Injury New Zealand or one of the Regional Associations.
The current hoax that has come to our attention appears to be targeting the Auckland area and has been asking for a sum of money to ‘send carers and people with a brain injury to a respite camp’. There is no such camp. We are unsure where these calls are coming from and this matter has been passed on to the police for investigation.
While Regional Associations do run telemarketing campaigns and we encourage and appreciate your support, we do advise you to be careful to ensure the validity of any request before you donate.
